cosmetic surgery horror
When we have saved up enough for the particular surgery that we want. Very excited we hop in the nearest clinic to see the physician, so that he/she can work the magic on you as well. But what we don’t consider are the risks involved with cosmetic surgery. Even thou the risks are not that high but they are there and people need to be aware of any risks that might be involved. Usually people don’t take the risk seriously, they often believe that chances of serious infection from the surgery will not happen to them. The most common place people go wrong is when they are selecting their surgeon. People often go for the cheapest option available. They don’t notice if the surgeon is qualified to perform that surgical procedure on them. The risks are so high that it can even lead to death. According to abc news, so far there have been 36 death due to cosmetic surgery. Procedures such as liposuction, which is one of the most common surgeries and also known to have low risks resulted in a death of 38 year old women in 2011. But why look at these people when we usually want to follow the Hollywood lead, we don’t have to look too far to see cosmetic surgery disasters in Hollywood. Pete burns and Jocelyn Wildenstein is one the worst cases for cosmetic surgeries gone wrong.

Many articles have proved your argument(heaps from the States). Surgery is quite expensive so people are more likely to choose the cheapest options. Some background information is important as well as advice from GP. But in having facial surgery people ignores the health effects that comes with it. Hollywood is a very bad influence on plastic surgery. Ten years down the line people are regretting having surgery, and this is a big dislike for me because sends out the message that surgery is good. One good thing about this is that the expensive cost turns people away :)
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteReally interesting point of debate as lots of people bypass issues of safety just to get a cheap job done. Half the time people who choose this path probably do so because they have been swayed by something they've read in the tabloids or seen on TV.
Western society has a prerogative to create an 'ideal' image of beauty which normally is resigned to western beauty. I feel they're is not enough projection of a multi-cultural beauty 'ideal' and more pressure for everyone to look 'one' certain way.
Just a few things about your layout and grammar. The sentences have an odd length and don't read smoothly and seem to run into each other. Just correcting this would help present an even stronger argument. Good angle though!!
